silver4's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aces So I opted for the calm evening of dinner and a movie with my girlfriend of ...geez almost 20 years!..and her husband, instead of the energy-filled, hectic, draining night of radio station-hosted "kegger" featuring Candlebox and too much alcohol. We went for sushi and X-men, which I will be seeing again on Monday. One of my nephews called me asking me to take him, since he knows I like that stuff too, and he's only like 12 or something so clearly he needs a ride. I should know his age. Damn. Too many nieces and nephews. I'm thinking more like 10. I can always cheat and check his patient account from the office. That's how I check a lot of people. X men was good but loooong I swear like 3 hours so be prepared. Not as good as others, but was still fun. Also entertaining was the $20 I played in video poker waiting for the guy's brothers, before entering the movie. The theater was inside one of the local hotel/casinos (as opposed to the Strip hotel/casinos), and we just played a few hands for fun and to pass the time. At some point, I was dealt three aces, so I saved them, and was given a 5 and one more ace! Won $400 off of that hand and cashed out. I told my friends that I would pay for the movie snacks! They grabbed extra large sodas and candy, I just grabbed a beer. They always get a lot of movie snacks, it actually disgusts me, but people live their lives however they want to. They are heavier people, and my girl would complain about her weight all the time, but she isn't the most motivated to change it. So that was a nice win. I don't play often, this is probably the first time in three or four months, so it's nice when it works favorably. Hopefully I can make that money last a couple weeks and not touch my debit card at all. I'm supposed to go hang out at a pool today with the crew. JA has been bugging me about it, or did so all day yesterday, making sure I'm going. If anything, I will go for a couple hours and then bounce. Maybe see if there are any interesting guys who I can talk to outside of the crew. I need to find a new swimsuit though. I've been getting a bit top-heavy, and I don't comfortably fit in anything I currently own, plus the fear of falling out of a top. I met a young female dentist at a course about a month ago, and we exchanged numbers. She was new to the community and a little shy with how the courses went and what to do, so I took her under my seasoned wing (kidding..I'm still fresh myself). We are going to meet up tonight and hang out. Maybe dinner and a couple drinks or something of the like. Should be fun. I need new people in my life. I would prefer for these new people to be men, but I'll take a woman for now. It's tough trying to make new friends as an adult, and tough to do it in the dental community and making sure it's not a person with a crazy huge ego. I am humble and modest and I still get excited over $400, so I'm definitely not a ballin, egotistical one. Alright, off to start my day I suppose. Clean up and the like.
